When the original Samsung Galaxy S first arrived we were somewhat disappointed by its glossy plastic shell, the new Samsung Galaxy S2 uses the same codes the same aesthetic and plastic finishes. The new dress is certainly more comfortable to the touch, the more massive and square design of the Galaxy S2 will appeal to male technophiles but the perceived quality is not really in keeping with its premium positioning. On this point, the HTC Sensation and finish metal is more flattering even if its design is agreed.
The desired result of this plastic finish is less weight and thickness. Despite the larger screen of 4.3 inches and a more powerful battery of 1650 mAh, the new Samsung Galaxy S2 manages to be thinner than its predecessor with 8.49 mm thick. Thinner, but also lighter by 3 g with 116 g on the scale. The Galaxy S2 still delivers a solid feel and we found the plastic does not crack under the fingers, the finishings are correctly done.
With the new format and more square rear facing, the grip is much better. The Samsung Galaxy S2 will not slip from your hands. Below the touch screen, there are the same keys as the first generation Galaxy S, same for the slice with the volume, micro USB and audio jack on the other hand, there is still no dedicated button for the camera.

The AMOLED screen will not please everyone, it is bright, contrasting but also delivers highly saturated colors. Saturation that would interesting for video and games, we prefer still the LCD screen S which are more neutral in color reproduction. We guess this is a matter of taste.
